How to Delete Your Account

At RideLink, we respect your right to control your personal data. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please follow these steps:

Option 1: Delete Your Account Within the App

  1. Open the RideLink app
  2. Go to “Settings” from the main menu
  3. Select “Account”
  4. Scroll down and tap on “Delete Account”
  5. Follow the confirmation steps
  6. Enter your password to confirm

Option 2: Request Account Deletion via Email

If you’re unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by:

  1. Sending an email to [email protected] with the subject “Account Deletion Request”
  2. Including your registered email address and phone number
  3. Our support team will process your request within 48 hours and send a confirmation email

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Profile information
  • Account credentials
  • Ride history
  • Payment methods
  • Vehicle information (for drivers)
  • Profile pictures
  • Saved locations
  • In-app preferences and settings

Data Retention

Some information may be retained for the following purposes:

  • Financial Records: Transaction records will be kept for 7 years as required by financial regulations
  • Legal Compliance: Information related to ongoing investigations or disputes may be retained until resolution
  • Anonymized Data: We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you for analytical purposes

All retained data is handled in accordance with the Electronic Transactions and Cybersecurity Act of 2016 of Malawi and our Privacy Policy.

Data Deletion Timeline

Account deletion is processed immediately, but complete removal of all data from our backup systems may take up to 30 days.
